Case Study: Goosewood Holiday Park
Goosewood Holiday Park comprises of twenty woodland acres, set in beautiful open countryside only a few miles from the centre of the picturesque City of York.
Goosewood prides itself on being the perfect haven for relaxation and exploration for the surrounding Dales, Moors and Coastline. The well visited park offers a combination of touring pitches, holiday homes and lodges and they are currently the ‘Winner of the Yorkshire Moors and Coast Tourism Partnership – Caravan Park of the Year’
Following demand from their customer base Goosewood decided to enhance the already extensive facilities with a WiFi network across the park, in order to keep ahead in the market and to continue their program of improvements for the 2008 season.
Park and Marine Wireless Networks successfully installed a WiFi system at Goosewood Holiday Park in November 2007. The network covered the whole site and used a pre printed voucher facility for visitors and owners on the park as well as a PayPal facility for any late arrivals who wanted to get access when reception was closed. Touring, holiday home and lodge customers are able to purchase vouchers for a variety of time periods to suit their stay. The solution was quite straight forward despite Goosewood having several heavily wooded areas on the park.
When asked what prompted the decision to install WiFi at Goosewood Holiday Park, Owner, Eddie Prince explained, “Maintaining Goosewood as one of the top UK parks in the way of services and facilities is an important part of what we do here. An increasing number of visitors and especially the high number of foreign visitors that come to stay with us every year expect WiFi or some kind of internet connection.”
